On the FZ1 forum, some guys are using the longer filter, either the PL14610 or the Bosch 3323. I can actually buy the Bosch 3323 on Amazon.ca cheaper than the Bosch 3300...

I recently looked at a Bosch oil filter for my '00 GTI 1.8T at AutoZone. It appeared to be a well made filter, with a silicone ADBV. I wouldn't hesitate to use it on my car. I just finished a 5k mile run on the GTI using a Wix filter (from O'Reilly Auto Parts).

I haven't been able to find much information about them, so can anyone confirm whether the only difference between them is actually the filtering capacity?

Yes, the Mobil 1 M1-110 and the Bosch 3323 are the long versions for the VQ35, just as the Purolator 14610 is. The 3300 was on the Mazda for 7,337 miles and 7 months. The D3334 was on the Alfa for 8,543 miles and 7 months. Everything looked great, the ADBV was slightly stiffer on the 3300 but it was also slightly thicker. Both were extreme pliable. Replaced with the same on both vehicles.
