WebEh, I've had to use a guide for the same puzzle in Myst more than once because I forgot the controls... it happens. Riven is hard and there was one thing in it that I 100% did not see and probably never would have without a walkthrough. The rest is doable, but you do really have to keep your eyes peeled, and think through what you're being shown. From my experience, ACH31 is only available if you do not fix the vase like the guide says. If you have fixed the vase, you won't get the achievement.
