This report further investigates the role played by services in GVCs by looking at patterns of specialisation in 23 services industries over the period 2000-2014. WebNotwithstanding this increase in global integration, the average share of foreign VA in euro area exports (e.g. broadly, the import content of exports) equalled still just over 30% in 2011.2 This is a far cry from the fears that Europe would fail to generate continued growth in value-added while integrating into global value chains.
